Firm History

In July 1985, Truitt A. Mallory and J. Edward Trice, Jr., left the law firm at which they had practiced law for many years to form the partnership Mallory & Trice, Attorneys at Law.  The firm was set up for a general practice with an emphasis on real estate, Social Security disability, divorce, and probate matters.

In 1992, the firm built and moved into its present location to allow for future growth and began to do more personal injury and workers’ compensation.  In 1993, the firm was appointed and continues to represent Upson County.  As county attorneys the firm also represents the various county elected officials and departments.

In August 2000, John R. Mallory joined the firm upon retiring from the U. S. Department of Transportation, Office of Inspector General, where he investigated and assisted in the prosecution of crimes involving that agency.  He was appointed Special Assistant Attorney General to represent the Georgia Department of Humans Resources, Upson County Department of Family and Children Services, in matters relating to child deprivation and protective services in the Juvenile Courts.

In October 2003, Matthew T. Mallory was admitted to the Georgia Bar and became associated with the firm.

The attorneys in the firm have a combined total of more than 84 years of legal experience, and provide legal services in a general civil practice and in all state and federal courts in the central Georgia area.
